AIS EPIRB VEP8A
The VEP8A, self-floating Satellite Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon that supports both the Location Protocols (including User-Location Protocols, Standard Location Protocols, and National Location Protocol) and the User Protocol.
When the vessel in distress and be going to sink, the VEP8A beacon (EPIRB) can be release automatically from the device and launches 406MHz satellite system, it will be transmitted to the shore-based terminal. LUT (local user terminal) can decode and analyze to show the location of the beacon, and give the information to RCC(rescue control center) to provide emergency rescue operations.VEP8A EPIRB is designed in accordance with the latest international standards.VEP8A’ s integral 50 channels GPS receiver gives a typical positional accuracy of 30m, significantly reducing the normal search distance from 10km distance. Added AIS locating transmitter to provide timely signals for self-rescue of own or adjacent ships.
Features
The VEP8A, self-floating Satellite Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon (VEP8A-EPIRB), transmits 406MHz emergency signal and 121.5MHz homing signal and AIS locating signal, which meet relevant regulations of IMO/IEC and COSPAS-SARSAT. It is a necessary equipment in emergency search and rescue. When the ship sinks down, the VEP8A will automatically release from the release device, and transmits 406MHz SOS signals. The signal will be received by COSPAS-SARSAT system satellite and forwarded to coast terminals. LUT will get the location of the position indicating beacon through decoding and analyzing, and send the data to RCC, for carrying out emergency rescue.
